MASTERCLASS M° GIUSEPPE ETTORE
CONTRABBASS






Along with his position as principal double bass with the Orchestra and
Filarmonica della Scala, Giuseppe Ettorre is active as a chamber musician
and soloist. Winner of the last edition of ARD Competition of Munich, of the
Bottesini and the International Competition in Stresa, he obtained the "G.
Bottesini" scholarship during his studies with Franco Petracchi at the
Accademia Chigiana in Siena. His repertoire ranges from the baroque to the
present, giving particular attention to the works of Bottesini, which he
interprets as close as possible to the original text. He has recorded CDs of
works by Bach, Rossini and Bottesini, and also for radio and televison in
Italy, Germany, France, Checoslovakya, with great public and critical
success. He teaches in Milan at the Accademia della Scala and the "Scuola
Musicale". He also holds masterclasses in Capbreton (France) and Portogruaro
(Italy), and lately at the Guildhall School of Music in London and at the
Paris Conservatoire.He is often invited as member of the jury in national
and international competitions, among which the last edition of Genève
Double-bass Competition. He plays a Custode Marcucci (1890 c.a.) Double-Bass
