Ho ricevuto una newsletter dal sito di Paul Bley e vengo dunque a sapere che in grande Niels Pedersen è deceduto martedi. 
E' certamente un evento tanto triste quanto inaspettato, visto che non aveva ancora 60 anni.

Quoto dalla Newsletter di Paul Bley:
LOST FRIENDS:  This has been a hard year so far with Steve Lacy and now Niels-Henning Orsted Pederson leaving us.  Paul loved them both and especially enjoyed making the duo album with Neils- Henning for SteepleChase and putting out the Lacy duo album with pianist Michael Smith "Sidelines" (IAI 37.38.47).
There's not enough time to be with everyone - but the thoughts are out there.

chiunque ami il jazz lo ha sicuramente incontrato in almeno una delle
centinaia di incisioni che nella sua vita ha realizzato.
Quello che mi sbalordiva di lui non era la sua (....ampiamente
riconosciuta....) tecnica dello strumento bensì la sua estrema poliedricità
ed adattabilità ai diversi stili che questa musica ci regala . Sempre ai più
alti livelli sia quando incideva con musicisti come joe pass, o.peterson,
dexter gordon, chet baker, johnny griffin, tete montoliu, che in contesti
più di "avanguardia" come anthony braxton o paul blay.

Invito chi non lo conosceva ad ascoltarlo ........
