Colleghi tutti,
parlando di accordature per quinte (do-sol-re-la) e del loro utilizzo da parte di JOEL QUARRINGTON ( http://www.joelquarrington.com ), forse il primo o l' unico al mondo ad aver inciso Bottesini per quinte usando lo storico Red Mitchell set della Thomastik, ho scoperto che il maestro Quarrington è un nostro assiduo lettore. Mi pare che il nostro Stefano Sciascia lo abbia conosciuto alla ISB Convention (mi pare di aver visto una loro foto insieme sul sito di maestro Stefano).
Vi riporto il testo di una mail che gentilmente Joel mi ha inviato, perchè sono veramente onorato del fatto che contrabbassista come Joel Quarrinton addirittura segua il nostro Forum.

Ecco il testo della mail che rendo pubblica:

Adesso naturalmente dovrò rispondere col mio pessimo Inglese a Joel Quarrington e spiegare cosa ho personalmente detto di lui. Sarà una cosa simpatica. Ad ogni modo, per chi voglia saperne di più sulla c.d. " TUNING FOR FIFTHS ", accordatura per quinte, può visitare il suo gradevole sito che ho indicato sopra.

Per rendere completa l' opera, e magari per i più curiosi che volessero ascoltare questo "Bottesini per quinte" ho la fortuna di avere il suo Cd e credo che si possa ancora trovare. Ecco i dati:

Personalmente credo che sia molto interessante ascoltare un contrabbasso accordato come i violini e celli o viole. Cosa ne pensate? Joel ha una sua filosofia nell' utilizzo di questa accordatura e i suoi adepti cominciano ad essere in molti. Rivoluzione del Terzo Millennio ? Non lo so !

that's great! welcome joel. sorry for my bad english. I try to write something i hope will be comprehensible!
just yesterday I tryed the tuning for fifth, but is too strange for me.  I'm used to play with 1-3-4 fingering and this kind of tuning force me to many hand mooving so it's too difficult for me to stay in tune. I'm not so good with doublebass and for using the tuning for fifth I must study too much and I think is better for me to continue with my actual tuning for forth.
actually the tuning for fifth is very interesting for the extention. I would like to try it with my electric bass that I use to play with the four fingers.
